BEKO
Beko Cameroonian native vocalist, musician and
dancer Beko has previously released 5 CD's in
her home country of Cameroon. The European star
makes her debut in the United States with her
new CD entitled "Africa" which features
some of her best works to date.
The veteran female vocalist demonstrates
her infectious sounds on the title track and first
release in the USA "Africa."
Beko looks at this record as a break through for
World beat music "I feel people will enjoy
my style and will not categorize my music as one
kind. I like to express my love for my country
and I want to spread my music to all hearts and
souls around the world."
Beko music is fastened tightly with
a collaboration of melodic instrumentation mixed
with her soulful toned vocals on her second single
"The Way of Love," which will be released
sometime in the fall of 2000.
Beko performs and sings in many
languages, English, French, Batanga, Doulex, Korean
and Lingala. Her songs are basically centered
on the day to day problems of Cameroon and Africa.
As a song stylist of a varied genre of music -
Makossa, Reggae, Bikutsi, Zaiko, and Blues, Beko
brings her international stardom to North America.
Two of her most noted music forms
includes Makossa and Ziako. The Makossa music
form traditionally deal with folklores. It's fast
rhythm and demanding energy gives Beko flavor
a new and vibrant feel. Ziako is a combination
of mostly African rhythms and is presented in
mostly ballads. It is similar to "Soca"
music played in the Caribbean.
Beko is scheduled to go on a national
promotion tour to introduce her music to North
America in the early part of 2001. She will appear
in concert in select cities. Beko has performed
in China, Gabon, Zaire, Korea, France and in Italy.
Beko admits she is looking forward to capturing
the hearts of all here.
